Home Security

The Home Security package is the basic bundle of Vivint's system offerings and starts at $53.99 per month, though additional optional features cost extra.

The basic Home Security package includes an LCD touchscreen control panel, three door/window sensors, one motion detector and one key fob, along with 24 hour monitoring and a lifetime equipment warranty. They also throw in a yard sign to help deter criminals.

Vivint uses 100 percent wireless sensors and control panels and notifies you of alarms and other alerts via email and text message. With the purchase of this package you'll also have access to the Vivint Smartphone App that allows you to remotely arm and disarm your system. The package also includes a two-way voice feature to help you communicate with Vivint's Central Monitoring Station operators if you alarm is tripped.

The installation fee for the Home Security package is $99. Additional smoke, glass break and carbon monoxide detectors are available for an extra $120 each.

Energy Management

The Energy Management System package includes all of the features of the Home Security package and then some. The package starts at a $59.99 monitoring fee per month.

The Energy Management System is designed to cut utility costs by reducing your home energy use via Z-Wave technology. Features of this package include a smart thermostat and an appliance control . Additional appliance controls can be purchased for $39 each while smart thermostats cost $60 each.

Vivint claims that the Energy Management package saves the average user around $24 per month in utility costs. That's a savings of over $1000 during the life of the contract.

The installation fee for the Energy Management package is $149.

Home Automation

Vivint's home automation package allows you to control your home from anywhere, whether you're at the office or on vacation. You'll be able to access your home's lamps, small appliances, thermostat and more from your laptop or mobile phone, and you can do so at great prices.

The Home Automation package starts at an affordable monitoring fee of $69.99 per month and up, depending on your needs. Best of all, it comes with a free customizable system. With the Automation Package you can access security systems and streaming video from your mobile phone, as well as control the door locks to your home.

The installation fee for the Home Automation package is $199 and it comes with all of the same features from the Home Security and Energy Management packages.

Additional features include a video camera and an automatic door lock. You can also add more video cameras automatic door locks for between $149 and $249 each.

Additional Information

All Vivint system packages are subject to a 42-month monitoring contract (dependent on location). If you wish to cancel your contract, you must do so within three days of installation in most areas of the U.S. to avoid a fee. Otherwise, you will be required to pay the total remaining balance of your contract up front.

If you move and would like to take your Vivint system with you, Vivint recommends reinstalling your current system if it contains over $60 worth of equipment. Vivint will reinstall your system in your new home for no fee as long as you have been a customer for at least one year and you sign a new agreement with the same terms as the original contract.

Otherwise, there will be a $99 reinstallation fee.
